I spent 15 years in banking before I ever sold a house — teller counter to Personal Banker II, with two years in there as an assistant manager — and that’s the lens I bring to real estate now. Banking teaches you to read numbers as decisions, not just data. A MUD tax rate isn’t a line item to me; it’s what a family’s monthly payment actually looks like three years from now. That’s the same lens this guide is built on.
I’m a licensed Texas REALTOR® based in the Katy, Richmond, and Fulshear area, and I specialize in corporate relocation and new construction — which mostly means I spend my days on the phone with families who are moving here from somewhere else, usually fast, usually for a job, and usually with a dozen questions nobody’s answered honestly yet. Which school district. Which suburb actually fits. What the commute is really like at 7:15 on a Tuesday, not what the map says it should be.
I started The Houston Relo Guide because most of what’s out there is either a listing site pretending to be an editorial site, or a “Top 10 Suburbs” post written by someone who’s never sat in I-10 traffic past Bunker Hill. I wanted something different: verified data, real boundaries, no steering, no opinions dressed up as advice — just what a family needs to know before they buy, written by someone who lives here and does this for a living.
I built this guide because relocating families need context before they need listings. When you’re ready to transition from online research to an actual home search, I can represent you through that entire process too—whether you are building brand-new construction or buying an established resale home.
I’m also a wife, a mom, and a caretaker, and most days that means my own relocation research doubles as homework — figuring out school zones, activities, and what “a good Tuesday” looks like in this city, for my own family as much as anyone else’s.

The beginning
The beginning A Facebook group, and the same questions on repeat
It started in a moms’ group, not a research meeting. In Moms in Katy, Richmond, Fulshear, and beyond, the same questions kept surfacing, week after week — where should we live, who’s a good pediatrician, how do you actually make friends here, is this community worth it, what’s this neighborhood really like. I kept answering them one thread at a time until I realized I was writing the same guide over and over, one mom at a time. So I decided to write it once, and write it right.

Not softer opinions — no opinions at all where it counts. Not just which school district ranks where, but which suburb actually feels like home, what a real commute costs beyond the sticker price, when to buy versus rent first, how to find your people once the boxes are unpacked. Why every guide gets checked before it’s published
Nothing goes up on a hunch. A school district guide gets checked against TEA and Niche. A cost breakdown gets checked against actual tax rates and toll pricing. A “how to make friends here” piece gets checked against what’s actually true, not what sounds nice. Whatever the topic, it’s verified before it’s published — and rechecked as things change, not written once and left to go stale..
